"The Wizard" is a fitting name for a golf course that required a magical transformation of terra firma to build.
Located amid wetlands and woodlands in Conway, just 10 miles inland from Myrtle Beach, The Wizard transports golfers to another place and time. The Lowcountry layout features extensive mounding that were created by moving more than 1.5 million cubic yards of earth, and the links layout looks like something from 19th century Scotland.
A huge stone castle serves as the clubhouse and stands guard over the expansive course, which opened in 1996 and has become an increasing favorite among both local and visiting golfers.
